Foundational Skills at Great Waltham C of E Primary School
Our Intent
At Great Waltham C of E Primary School, we believe that children's success in later learning depends upon the secure acquisition of foundational knowledge, skills and behaviours during the Early Years and Key Stage 1.
Our curriculum is designed to ensure that every child develops the fundamental skills needed to become confident communicators, fluent readers, successful writers, competent mathematicians and independent learners. Through carefully sequenced teaching, purposeful practice and high-quality adult interactions, we ensure children build strong foundations upon which future learning can flourish.
