Welcome from the Headteacher

A warm welcome to Great Waltham C of E Primary School’s Website.

We hope you find this website both useful and enjoyable as we celebrate the education of our brilliant pupils. Our website contains a wealth of useful information which informs you about the school and the way that our school community supports the education of our children.

We are a member of the River Chelmer Primary Partnership – which is a supportive group of 8 local primary schools which are the named catchment schools for Chelmer Valley High School. We are also a member of the Chelmsford Teaching School Alliance (CTSA).

Schools are special places to work. It is a privilege to work with children. I share that honour with incredible staff and governors and a very supportive school community. Being a rural, village, church school brings its own strengths. We are proud to have such close links with St Marys and St Lawrence church, just a short walk from the school. We are very outward facing and like to be part of community events.

Schools all have two aims – to care for children in a safe, secure and happy environment and to provide them with the best possible education. At Great Waltham we work very hard to deliver on those aims.

Our school 'Strap line' is 'Let Our Light Shine' and any of our pupils will happily demonstrate this virtue.

‘Let Our Light Shine’

Our ‘Mission Statement’ is:

We aim to live as Jesus shows us. We ASPIRE for all our children to be confident, happy and caring individuals who develop a love of learning and of life, living responsibly in God’s World.

‘Do to others as you would have them do to you’

Luke 6:31

Being a rural school means we have fantastic, spacious grounds for the children to learn, exercise and play. We have great quality facilities in the school building too to promote positive learning.

We are very proud to welcome visitors to our school where the pupils will happily share their experiences and talk with pride about the journey they are on. We want them to enjoy their journey and understand that school is equipping them for the journey of life too.

Please contact the school if you have any questions that cannot be answered when viewing this website.

Best wishes,

Mrs Justine Brooks
