Thursday 12th February 2026 - Spring Term Issue 3

Headteacher Message

I cannot believe it is already half term — the past five weeks have flown by!

I will keep this brief, as we have lots of information coming your way this week. Mrs Boyle has written to you about Book Week (yes, we will be dressing up!) and the Book Fair that will be running . Ms Lovell will also be in touch about the exciting projects linked to Science Week.

This week, the children have been busy taking part in activities for Children’s Mental Health Week. On Friday, they will need to come to school in their PE kits so they can enjoy a fun afternoon moving around different classes and taking part in a range of activities with different teachers. These will include yoga, large collaborative art projects, and construction challenges. It promises to be a wonderful way to end the half term, and I know the children will really enjoy it.

Well done to our year 6 children (and adults!) who have been working really hard in preparation for their SATs in the summer term.  The recent assessments have shown huge progress and I am super proud of the children’s effort – they are really demonstrating our value of Strength.

Before I sign off, I would like to thank everyone for your support with our uniform drive — the children are looking incredibly smart.

Wishing you all a restful and well deserved half term break.

Mrs Brooks

We are looking forward to our next School Grounds Morning. This time, we will be focusing on tidying and gardening our beautiful school grounds, as well as building some storage for OPAL resources.

Parents, carers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and of course children are all warmly invited to lend a helping hand. As a thank you, we’ll provide free refreshments.

It would be really helpful to know how many volunteers we can expect on the day. Please click the link below to confirm if you can make it.

We really appreciate all of your help.

Online Safety & Mental Health

Top Tips for Parents & Educators: Supporting Safe Use of AI

Artificial intelligence is becoming a familiar part of young people’s online experiences, with a myriad of school tools and entertainment platforms in use. This guide breaks down what AI really is, helping adults explain it clearly and realistically so children don’t overestimate its abilities or trust it unquestioningly. It explores how AI systems work, where they appear online, and why understanding them matters.

The guide also highlights key online safety considerations, including misinformation, data privacy, bias and over-reliance on AI tools. With practical advice on setting boundaries, choosing age-appropriate platforms and encouraging ethical, creative use, it empowers parents and educators to build digital literacy while keeping children safe, curious and critically engaged.
