Headteacher Message
Thank you to Class Africa and Miss Byford for a wonderful assembly this morning, it was lovely to see all the children’s work and I was particularly impressed with their geography knowledge. Thank you to the FOGWS for putting on the Father’s Day event yesterday, it was great to see so many of you there.
Online safety
During our PSHE and computing lessons, the children learn about how to keep themselves safe online, how to report anything worrying and about appropriate online behaviour. Please can I remind you to check your child’s phone / tablet regularly as children often need support and guidance from an adult if they are communicating with friends regularly. Please can I also remind you that certain Apps and games have age restrictions. Home - eSafety Training is a really helpful website for parents, run by The2Johns, you can also follow them on social media where they keep you up to date with current trends online.
Staffing
As you are aware, Miss Byford is going on maternity leave soon and next year we are pleased to welcome Miss Garvin to Class Africa. The children will meet Miss Garvin during class move up day on 11th July and she is very much looking forward to starting in September.
Ukraine non-uniform day fundraiser on 14th July.
A number of children have been asking if we can raise money to help people living in Ukraine. We have decided to work with a local charity called Hope and Aid Direct and would like to raise money to buy a generator like the one pictured below. The generators cost £229.99 and it would be great if we could raise enough money to buy one so we will be asking for voluntary donations of at least £1. Some of the children in year 3 are busy designing posters and will be writing to you nearer the time.
Parent Survey
Your views are really important to us, so we have sent out our annual parent/carer survey today. Please take the time to respond and comment as your feedback would be gratefully received.
Rev Dan has asked that we share some information about a pop up food project at Ford End village hall. Please see the flyer attached. We are all really looking forward to sports week next week and hopefully we will see lots of you on Wednesday for the main event.
Have lovely weekend.
