Thursday 16th January 2025 - Spring Term Issue 1

Headteacher Message

It has been a wonderful start to the Spring term.  The children, as ever, are full of enthusiasm for the term ahead.

This week, the children participated in an iSingPop workshop, exploring our school's vision, 'Let all that you do in love'. The children learnt three new songs, culminating in a collective worship at the end of the day. Great fun was had by all.

During the teacher training day at the start of this term, the teachers and LSA’s took part in some invaluable training on ADHD and sensory needs. They came away feeling very positive with some great ideas to implement in the classroom which will enhance the learning experience for all our pupils.

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Mrs May and Miss Pengelly from Tidmarsh Blinds, who generously repaired our hall curtains during the Christmas break, free of charge. Their kindness is very much appreciated and the hall looks a lot smarter!

Congratulations to all the children who received Platinum Awards at the end of the Autumn term. We are all very proud of you. Additionally, we celebrate Mrs Martin’s recent qualification as an HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant). She joins Mrs Beecham and Mrs Barry, who qualified last year. This additional training allows them to take on greater responsibilities, including covering classes and developing their own lessons. Mrs Beecham and Mrs Barry are already putting their skills to excellent use, teaching on Thursday mornings during teachers' PPA time.

Looking ahead, we have some additional dates to add to the whole school diary;

On Wednesday, 26th March, our Year 2 pupils will participate in the Chelmsford Infant Music Festival. Parents are welcome to attend, and we will provide more details soon. Additionally, our annual Easter Egg decorating competition will take place on Thursday, 3rd April. Further information about this exciting event will follow.

Lastly, I kindly remind all parents and carers that our school gate closes at 8:45am when the register is taken. Morning work commences at this time, making punctuality crucial for our children. I have attached a poster illustrating the impact of lost minutes on children's education. If you require any support in ensuring your child's timely arrival, please do not hesitate to contact the school office in confidence.
