Headteacher Message

As we approach the end of another busy term, it is great to reflect on everything we have achieved as a school.
Our Easter service was a highlight, bringing our community together in celebration. Thank you to those who were able to join us. Reverend Tayrina's delivery of the Easter message was excellent. The children's story telling, songs and dancing got us all ready for Easter!
I must extend my gratitude to our dedicated FOGWS team for organising the recent Movie Night. This enjoyable event not only provided a fun-filled evening for our pupils but also raised around £400 for our school funds. We are excited to earmark this contribution towards enhancing our playground once the new classroom construction is complete. More details about this project are to follow.
Speaking of our FOGWS volunteers, I would like to take a moment to recognise their tireless efforts. These individuals juggle their personal and professional commitments to create memorable experiences for our children. I encourage you to join me in thanking them and, if possible, to consider getting involved. Your ideas and support are always welcome!
Our building project continues to make steady progress. I'm optimistic that upon our return from the Easter break, we will see the new structure begin to take shape – an exciting prospect indeed.
A huge well done to class Africa who attended the Infant Music Festival in Chelmsford last week. They put on a lovely performance and worked well with lots of other schools. Another well done to class Asia for their fantastic class assembly, complete with an excellent quiz and fascinating facts.
Looking ahead, I am pleased to announce our upcoming family games, picnic and school grounds morning on Saturday 26th April. Please refer to the poster below for more details about this event.
I would like to remind you of the importance of healthy packed lunches. The link below provides you with some great tips to inspire your lunch preparations, ensuring the children have the energy they need to learn and grow. It has helpful ideas such as cutting down on crisps, and swapping them for plain popcorn or rice cakes. Lunch box ideas and recipes – Healthier Families - NHS
As we break for the Easter holidays, I want to express my appreciation for your continued support throughout this term. As ever, I am so impressed with the children’s attitude to school and I am looking forward to seeing all their Easter eggs tomorrow. I am relieved that I am not the judge as it is always a tricky one!
School will finish at the usual time of 3.15 on Friday. I wish you all a wonderful and restful holiday period and look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 22nd April.
