Headteacher Message
What a wonderful time we all had at sports day yesterday. Well done to all the children for taking part and to the Tigers, the overall winners on the day. The courage, determination and strength the children showed was excellent. Thank you all for your support on the day, and for the kitchen for providing a delicious picnic!
Congratulations to all those children who took part in the recent district field and track events (please see the news item for more info) I must extend special recognition to our Year 6 girls - Hatty, Sadie, Mollie, and Phoebe - who delivered an outstanding performance and won every single race they entered, including long distance, sprint, and relay events. Well done girls!
I am equally proud to share that our young leaders, who through their recent non-uniform day raised just over £200 for CHESS homeless charity.
You may have noticed that sadly, we had to remove the friendship tree. A local conservation officer confirmed the tree was unhealthy. As part of the building project, we are resurfacing the playground area so this seemed the right time to remove the tree. We have kept some of the wood, which will be used as seats in the forest school area.
The friendship tree is a large part of our school community and thanks to an anonymous benefactor, we have been able to purchase a ‘Buddy Bench’ to replace the friendship meeting point.
Looking ahead, we have several exciting events approaching;
Our KS2 pupils will be performing The Jungle Book at the church on Wednesday 9th July, with performances at 1:30pm and 6.00pm - all are warmly welcome to attend.
Our summer fete will take place on Saturday 28th June at 1.00pm, and we invite you to support this by contributing tombola prizes through our non-uniform day on Friday 27th June.
Finally, please remember to provide consent and payment for the upcoming educational visits: KS1's trip to the Wilderness Foundation and KS2's visit to Danbury Country Park. These experiences are invaluable for our pupils' learning and development.
Thank you for your continued support.
