Thank you to Cllr. Mike Steel who cut the ribbon and opened our new mushroom scooter pods today with the pupils from our school council. Thanks to Cllr Steel the school secured a grant to pay for the new scooter pods just in time for the ‘Big Walk and Wheel Event’ week which takes place between the 11th and the 22nd March 2024.
The school council choose the colour’s of the mushrooms on behalf of all the pupils at school. We hope to see the mushroom pods used every day as part of our travel initiative, which is to encourage more walking and wheeling to school.
Remember, even if you drive to school, you can still help the initiative by parking further away and walking the rest of the way to school.
On Tuesday 5th March, the whole of KS2 went to IWM Duxford. It was a brilliant day. All the children behaved themselves and everyone got to see many of the war planes and vehicles used in World War One and World War Two. The children got to climb aboard Concorde, they saw Spitfires, Hurricanes, Lancaster Bombers, ammunition cases, tanks and much more.

For several years, we have been running our Hot Chocolate Friday reward for the children. Due to budget constraints, we have asked our local recruitment agency - Gold Education - to support this incentive.
We are delighted to announce that Gold Education Recruitment are supporting us for the Spring Term. The business owner of Gold Education, Mr Paul Yates, came along to present the hot chocolates and a certificate to the first winners of the term.
Mr Yates said he was very proud to have been asked and was delighted to support a cause that benefits the children.
