Our first ever Eco-Hat Making Competition took place on Tuesday. Well done to all of the children for taking part and coming up with some fantastic ideas. It was interesting to see the children's take on the new 'eco' theme - we had hats created from holly & berries to cereal boxes and crisp packets! It was wonderful to see everyone's creations. Well done to the winners from each class photographed below.
Apologies but we will need to close the school today due to the weather conditions. We do not have enough staff due to the distance they live. Stay safe and warm!
I was so impressed with this week’s performances of ‘Wonky, Tonky Donkey’. The children clearly enjoyed performing and I think you’d agree we have a very talented group of children. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who helped make this happen.
I wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you for coming to our Christmas Bazaar, it was a real success and we couldn’t have done it without you. It was lovely to see the children enjoying themselves and I think you would agree that the Great Waltham Village Choir gave it that extra special Christmas feel. We raised in the region of £1900 which is amazing!
The bazaar couldn’t have gone ahead without all the FOGWS volunteers, when I first started at school in September they were already planning the event. They have given up lots of their time to make it happen so please join me in thanking them – we really do appreciate everything you do for the children.
Well done to our KS1 Football Team for coming 1st place in a tournament at Great Baddow High School. They played excellently as a team and won all of their matches.
We've kicked off Anti-Bullying Week today with Odd Socks Day.

At 11.00am today - 11th November 2022 - the whole school held a 2 minutes silence to pause and reflect on the service and sacrifices the Armed Forces make on our behalf. We are very proud of the children for showing respect throughout.
Thank you to all of you that purchased Poppies, the Royal British Legion will collect our donations in the coming weeks.
8 children from KS2 attended an archery tournament this week at CSAC. Well done to you all for taking part.
Our year 3/4 team came 5th out of 10 teams and our year 5/6 came 2nd out of 10 teams which puts them through to the final! Well done all.
Our year 6's joined their buddies in class Australia this week. They enjoyed their first reading session together.

On Friday 30th September, Class Australia went to visit St Mary and St Lawrence Church as part of their RE topic. The children were made to feel very welcome and were encouraged to explore the church and familiarise themselves with the different features. A big thank you to all the adults who helped with the trip and to the members of the church for showing us around.
