  • A Special Visit from Our Local MP – Kemi Badenoch

    Published 18/09/25

We were delighted to welcome our local MP, Kemi Badenoch, to GWPS recently for a very special occasion – the official opening of our brand new classroom.

Mrs. Badenoch had the honour of cutting the ribbon and marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our school. She has since written to us to share her thanks, saying how much she appreciated the opportunity to be part of such a memorable event.

During her visit, Mrs. Badenoch spoke with our local Councillors; Cllr Steel and Cllr Ball, school staff, members of the FOGWS committee, and our Year 6 pupils. She praised the pupils for their “maturity and enthusiasm”, noting that they are “a real credit to the nurturing environment of the school that the headteacher has created.”

She also commented on the positive impact of the new classroom, describing it as “a wonderful addition to the school which will serve as a vibrant and engaging learning environment for years to come.”

Before leaving, Mrs. Badenoch expressed her gratitude to the whole GWPS team, highlighting the dedication and commitment that was evident throughout her visit.

This was a proud and memorable day for our school community, and we look forward to many happy learning experiences in our new classroom.
